I love being a County Commissioner because I have been able to make real changes and bring real resources to our community. This role has allowed me to move beyond talk and actually deliver results for the people of Otero County.
Many of you know I’ve been involved in politics for many years. I’ve supported candidates, knocked doors, and worked behind the scenes—only to watch, too often, as some elected officials failed to do what they promised once they were in office. That frustration is exactly why I ran. I ran to do what I say I will do. Not just to show up and vote, but to bring forward action items that truly advance our county.
My love for this community is deeply rooted. I was born and raised here, and preserving the culture and values of Otero County matters to me. Growth and change should never come at the expense of who we are. I believe in maintaining the balance between bringing in outside resources and truly understanding the specific needs of our residents. That balance has been both challenging and rewarding—and worth every minute.
Government moves slowly. Anyone who has worked within it knows that without extra effort, projects get lost in the system. I am not willing to let that happen. I push, follow up, and fight to make sure things move forward.
Not raising taxes has been a priority, but keeping our citizens safe has been even more important. My love of animals led me to bring additional resources to our animal shelter, strengthen ordinances, and improve conditions—while still respecting and preserving our ranching culture. I’ve also stood firm against harmful wastewater projects and have made it a priority to address neglected properties that create serious health and safety concerns, like roaches and rats affecting neighboring families.
We have addressed roads, including projects funded before I became a commissioner, and my goal is to start projects now that will benefit Otero County long after my time in office.
I stand against government regulations that harm citizens—such as mask mandates and business closures. Freedom matters. Local businesses matter. Our way of life matters.
Otero County has incredible, untapped potential. We need to reinvest in economic development, support opportunity, and allow our community to thrive without unnecessary government interference.
That is my why. I serve because I care deeply about this county, its people, and its future—and because I believe leadership means action, accountability, and results.
